Alexa’s Ascension App Video Reflection!

Happy Feast of Paper St. John Paul II! You just might recognize the girl giving the daily reading video reflection on the homepage of the Ascension app today, October 22, 2026. 😉 What an incredible honor and privilege to serve the Lord in this way! God continues to surprise and humble me- I never would have envisioned this, and I never know where He is sending me next. I’m either having surgery and difficult treatments, speaking at a parish, speaking at a prison retreat, or making a video for the Ascension app. 😉

In usual fashion, the date I was assigned for this video reflection contained one of the most challenging gospels- I just HAD to laugh! God doesn’t usually warm me up to new things- it’s deep end all the way, which is all the more opportunity for me to trust Him and rely on Him instead of on myself, because I couldn’t possibly do this of my own accord!

Jesus tells us that following Him won’t be easy, but it is always worth it, and we are never alone. I am thrilled to be in a piece of the pie where I am seeing tangible fruits coming from all I’ve been through and am still going through in life, and that’s why I’m excited about this video, because it’s an example of God working for good in the midst of my terrible situation. For twenty years I couldn’t see what God was doing, but He was preparing me for a certain mission all along, and He is working in the midst of the mess. My story a testament to Romans 8:28, so let my life be the reminder to all of you that God is always working for good, even and especially when we can’t see it. All the glory is His!

My video reflection appears on the Ascension app homepage on October 22. After that it will be accessible for a period of time by clicking on October 22 in the calendar in the app. (You can access the daily video reflections with the free version of the app.) Here’s the link:

I loaded the original video at the top of this post so that it can be seen at any time, but make sure to download the Ascension app to see all their great content, including daily reflection videos from great Catholic evangelists. I have been invited to do another video for the Ascension app, so stay tuned!
