Hello subscribers! I am excited to share that I will be speaking on “The Hope That Does Not Disappoint” at St. Dominic in New Orleans on November 18 at 7:00 p.m. This is open to women, as it is sponsored by their women’s group Women of Sts. Marth and Mary (WOMM). This talk will take place in the Siena room in the parish center is open to all women.
This is the same talk I will be giving the prior week at St. Ann in Metairie on November 12. The St. Ann talk will take place in the church and is open to men and women, and the St. Dominic talk will take place in the Siena room of the parish center and is open to women.
I’m excited to give this talk twice in November. Most of the talks I’ve been giving have not been repeat talks- I’ve beed doing a lot of new writing! But I’m excited to give this particular talk a couple of times since we are in the Jubilee Year of Hope- that’s why I’m focusing on the topic of hope! I’m not scheduled to give this talk other than these 2 times in November, so catch one of them if you can as we lean into hope in a particular way this year.
Hope is so important, yet it can be easy to despair, especially with everything going on in today’s world. If you’re anything like me, you’ve hoped for things that never happened, and that left you disappointed. What, then, did St. Paul mean when he said that “hope does not disappoint” in Romans 5? That’s part of what I will discuss in this talk.
I’m going to unpack that question and my personal journey with St. Paul’s words in a relatable way as we journey together to better understand the particular hope that Christ calls us all to, and what that means for our lives today. Hope to see you there! [No pun intended there. ;)]
